A charming small inn in the heart of beautiful downtown Gruene. The oldest house in Gruene has four rooms of distinction, beautiful gardens and a lovely porch, claw foot tubs, and ceiling fans. The earliest part of the house pre-dates the Civil War (1840-50), with additions in 1872, and 1880. Many period antiques and professional decorations, with modern amenities, will makes this a memorable stay. Each room, containing a queen bed, is named after a Gruene family member, and decorated appropriate to their personalities. Twelve foot ceilings, 9' windows, wood floors and trim enhance the feeling of a step back in time. The owner is also the town historian, and will be happy to give you a brief history, or point out architectural oddities relative to the house and period during your stay. (Renovations are scheduled for the next few months to include two new bathrooms and update the existing one, so your patience will be appreciated.) We will be happy to help you celebrate special events, and make your stay a pleasant one. The entire house is available for large parties or extended stays, and can accommodate up to twelve people. Come on down and see the many things New Braunfels has to offer. Our lovely bed and breakfast is located near the Guadelupe River area and offers an excellent place to observe hummingbirds. We have many attractions to see including the Schlitterbahn Waterpark and once a month we have Gruene Market Days where you can help support our local vendors.
